Fraunhofer Institutes based at Aachen has reportedly collaborated with 15 distinctive partners to bring forward a new research community called ICNAP, International Center for Networked Adaptive Production. The collaboration is going to address the development and understanding of the Industrial Internet of Things, 5G mobile communication and machine data. In the first edition of the yearly meeting, ICNAP partners said that these three areas of interest are in urgent need of attention.
On the top hand, these partners are focusing on the development and the research of these projects in the forthcoming year. By the looks of it, the partners are anticipating that by the end of 2019, they are going to fully explore the areas by diving them in three distinctive pieces of research.
ICNAP community aims at developing new systems for productions as well as the value chains needed to envision the concept of the Industry 4.0. The community is going to test the essence of the production tasks which is needed in the industrial sectors.
Three acclaimed Fraunhofer institute located in Aachen, Germany is going to collaborate with the leading experts like that of GmbH, Ericsson, Atlas Copco Airpower N.V., and MTU Aero Engines AG by ensuring that they meet the target. The additional partners of the community of ICNAP originate from the field of sensor technology, measurement, plant and machine manufacturing, and IT. By the looks of it, some of the manufacturing companies come from a wide array of sectors.
The community is going to merge data ranging from different sources as well as manufacturing technologies into a single digital twin. They will work together to ensure the generation of a singular digital twin in a complex manufacturing environment. When it comes to 5G, the community is going to oversee the requirements before the 5G communication tech for mobile is deployed.
