Wipro all set to open its third IoT centre of excellence
The developments in the field of IoT and AI as well as VR and AR are not hidden under the wraps anymore. We are able to get more and more connected devices around us which not only make our lives easier, but also provide unique opportunities for realizing advantages in terms of cost and flexibility of accessing applications. This development is largely dependent on the involvement of major companies in IoT research and Wipro is one of the leading IT firms in India which has taken formidable strides in this field.
Reports from official IoT newsletter issued by the tech giant on Thursday clearly indicate that it would be opening a centre of excellence for Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) in Kochi. While the stalwart of Indian IT landscape is based in Bengaluru, the decision to set up the centre of excellence in Kerala comes as a surprise for many in the tech industry as well as IoT enthusiasts alike.
The reports from IoT news magazines also indicate that the statement issued by Wipro Ltd. reflected on the commitment of the IT giant towards development of IIoT solutions that can be scaled across various technologies for customers in the domains of consumer products and goods, industrial manufacturing, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, utility space and automotive sectors.
According to latest IoT information, this centre would be the company’s second establishment in India with the other one being in its home ground, Bengaluru and the other one being outside the country in Mountain View, California.
The statement from Wipro also suggested that winning candidates at the two-day hackathon on IIoT conducted by the company in Kochi would receive the privilege to join the new IIoT research and development team.
