Myriota is all set to scale up its popular Global Satellite Constellation and accomplish near real-time connectivity by leveraging the Space-as-a-Service capabilities of Spire Global. Spire Global, a top-rated provider of analytics, space, and space-based data services, partners with Myriota, a renowned provider of low-cost, long battery life and secure satellite connectivity for IoT. The partnership aims at leveraging the Space Services of Spire to enhance the service deployment timeline of Myriota and expand the Myriota network with the use of Spire low-earth orbit nanosatellites. Myriota is all set to become the first commercial, IoT-focused, and large-scale client of Spire Global.
Spire Global leverages one of the largest multi-purpose satellite constellations of the world in order to source valuable and hard to acquire data. The low-earth-orbit nanosatellites constellation of Spire is equipped with a number of software-defined radios (SDR) that allow the partners to deploy, operate, test, and scale different custom applications. Myriota will leverage the satellite platform of Spire and scale up its network.
Myriota and Spire together plan to ramp up the coverage of Myriota to an international or global level. The partnership will expand the existing coverage of Myriota in New Zealand, Australia, and North America. By using the proven global operations and constellation platform, Myriota intends to cost-effectively and quickly expand its IoT services in order to cater to the increasing demand across the globe.
Myriota expects that the partnership with Spire Global will enable its network to reach more areas in less time. It will also enhance its latency with the use of existing spacecraft. The Myriota Network allows customers in diverse industries such as utilities, agriculture, and logistics to securely collect and monitor data globally, leveraging its low-cost and long-lasting IoT sensors. The customers of Myriota are locating, monitoring, and tracking assets such as wind turbines, vehicles, shipping containers, and tools and equipment. The new partnership will extend support to the new services and reduce latency.
According to the General Manager of Space Services and Earth Intelligence and Executive Vice President of Spire Global, Theresa Condor, the company takes pride in the fact that its technology and satellites are ready to enable Myriota to make smart devices easily accessible to more people. He also adds that Australia is known to be a hotbed of a number of innovative companies. According to Theresa Condor, it is pleasing to help a global satellite connectivity provider efficiently scale up and reach the market quickly.
According to the CTO and Co-founder of Myriota, Dr. David Haley, the partnership with Spire Global is likely to be a game-changer for the business as the Myriota network demand is increasing among the partners. The partners who are planning to roll out different products at an increasing rate require the Myriota network the most. By using the constellation of Spire Global, Myriota will be able to quickly enhance its services and ultimately expand its reach into new markets like Europe. He also added that the company considers Spire Global as the perfect partner to help Myriota enhance its reach in the global market.
