Mobile World Congress 2019 to boost discussions on IoT advancements

by | Mar 15, 2019 | IoT News

New and innovative technologies have always been highly emphasized in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) events. The primary organizing body of the MWC i.e. the GSM Association (GSMA) has been quite hopeful with the success of the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona. This fact can be observed in the case of the GSMA announcing details for the large scale American event to be held this year.

This event would be the headline of different internet of things news pieces for 2019. The new change that would be seen this year is the renaming of the Mobile World Congress America as MWC19 Los Angeles. However, the venue would remain the same as that of last year i.e. the Los Angeles Convention Center. The Internet of Things would be the focal theme in this massive event alongside other topics related to areas such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), 5G technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Even though the selected themes have been found to have received prominent attention at last year’s event, it is inevitable to observe that they are also accounted as significant IoT trends in the mobile sector as well as adjacent verticals. Thus, the MWC19 Los Angeles would be dealing with the four essential areas such as IoT, Immersive Content, 5G and Disruptive Innovation.

According to information from latest IoT articles, it is evident that the MWC19 Los Angeles would have many notable names from the tech industry in attendance. Some of them include Nokia, Amazon, MasterCard, Xiaomi, Qualcomm, Ericsson and VMware. The organizers of the event at the GSMA have stated that their predictions indicate towards a possible attendance of more than 22,000 with majority of them belonging to senior-executive level positions. The event has been stipulated to commence on October 22, 2019 and would conclude on October 24, 2019.
