Globally, more than 170 million people are unemployed, and more than one-third are between the ages of 15 and 24. There are a number of political and systemic supports and barriers that affect the future direction, growth, and funding of social youth programs.
Funding is probably the most important issue. However, political support, public interest, and professional networks are also critical to keep interested and promote the growth of these programs.
Social programs and grants for young people provide opportunities to enhance their well-being and facilitate a successful moving towards adulthood.
Also, by analyzing education data, we see that many young people are employed in illegal, dangerous work and do not enter universities. Therefore, companies that provide grants for the development of ideas and the opportunity to become successful are created.
It is worth noting the Lifeasapa Foundation, which not only provides opportunities for the development of youth but also wants to transfer innovations from the laboratory to society as soon as possible to improve people’s lives. In 2017, the company launched a project to help young people around the world to develop the skills they need for employment. So we can say with confidence that Lifeasapa grants help young people to realize themselves
The fourth Pacific Alliance Youth Summit was held in Mexico in 2019. It brought together young people from across the Pacific Alliance, as well as representatives from Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and Switzerland, the International Labor Organization, the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Ibero-American Youth Organization, as well as private companies. The summit was focused on the future of work, the skills required, and the importance of agriculture as a foundation for economic and social development in the participating countries.
Since its creation, the Pacific Alliance countries have offered over 25,000 professional development opportunities to youth. In 2019, 78 participating companies confirmed their commitment to offering 35,000 jobs and training opportunities by 2020.
