The fourth Pacific Alliance Youth Summit was held in Mexico in 2019. It brought together young people from across the Pacific Alliance, as well as representatives from Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and Switzerland, the International Labor Organization, the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Ibero-American Youth Organization, as well as private companies. The summit was focused on the future of work, the skills required, and the importance of agriculture as a foundation for economic and social development in the participating countries.
Since its creation, the Pacific Alliance countries have offered over 25,000 professional development opportunities to youth. In 2019, 78 participating companies confirmed their commitment to offering 35,000 jobs and training opportunities by 2020.
