
The US-based IT company Cognizant has been acquired Australian firm Servian to accelerate their capabilities and growth in the areas of artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), and the cloud. This is their 10th acquisition since January 2020. They have announced their acquisition of the Sydney-based, privately held enterprise transformation consultancy specialising on Monday. The major areas of concern of this company are digital service, artificial intelligence, cloud. and experience design. Though the financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition of Servian will significantly expand Cognizant’s capabilities in the field of end-to-end digital transformation in Australia and New Zealand in order to foster clients’ move not only to the cloud but also to build digital products and services. It will also unlock value from data and help them to achieve operational excellence by modernising enterprise applications.
According to Janesey, CEO. Cognizant Australia and New Zealand “Enterprises in Australia and New Zealand are at an inflection point in their digital adoption. Cognizant’s extensive digital expertise combined with Servian’s strengths as the premier technology partner in the region will open up the full power of digital transformation for our Australasian clients.”
Cognizant is serving more than 110 clients with the help of over 1200 professionals in Australia that includes the Australian Bank, insurer, retailers, communication companies, etc. According to Tony Nicol, founder, and CEO of Servian: “With Cognizant’s deep industry expertise and global scale, we will be able to apply our strengths in strategic advisory, engineering delivery, and managed services across an even broader spectrum of challenges and opportunities presented by the digital economy.”
Now, Servian’s 500-odd technology and consulting professionals will workhand in hand with Cognizant to double the size of Cognizant’s cloud and the data team of both Australia and New Zealand.
